武当派:少林知晓吗？纽约多了个叫“武当派”地街区

对于很多外国人来讲，讲到中国难免会想到功夫。
在美国就有一支以“武当”命名地著名嘻哈音乐组合——武当派。英文名字为WuTang Clan。

这支1992年在纽约市地史泰登岛区成立地乐队，在黑人HIPHOP界享有盛名。
因为他们地影响力，最近纽约划出一个区，专门以“武当派”命名。周六，当地官员、粉丝和社区成员一起揭开了这个街区地路标。

The city has designated a section of Staten Island, the borough otherwise known to WuTang fans as Shaolin, as the WuTang District to celebrate the legendary hiphop group's influence and contributions to the world.

Another perspective on the word WuTang is offered by group member Method Man, who “notes that a sword cutting through air molecules results in a “Wu” sound effect and the “Tang” sound effect is the result of contact made with a shield”.

因为“武当派”地成功，很多对中国文化不甚了解地美国人，都知晓了武当和少林地名字。
